If You Have to Reapply for Step 1 Do You Need to Pay Again

Tin i skip the examination and reapply?

Aid me out guys!
Am lil confused.
My eligibility period (extended) for step1 ends this march 31st.
Merely my training is not actually that good.
Am i allowed to cancel now and take the examination subsequently, i mean after the eligibility period?
Whats the process?

i don't know if i got it right from your explanation, simply here is what i know:

when y'all aplly for a certain examination(pace 1, step ii CK, etc) you have to cull a 3 months period when you have to have your exam; if in this period you lot are not fix to take the exam, you lot tin can extend the eligibility period for another 3 months which FOLLOWS the initial 3 months; in this iii months menstruation you have to give the examination(i think this is where y'all are correct now); if you will exist non ready for the exam by 31st of march and y'all already have extended the eligibility menstruum, you accept but 2 options:

1. accept the exam past the finish of march even though you are non fully prepared.
2. don't take the exam; in this case y'all will lose those 740$(or how much you payed for the step exam) and you will demand to reaply for another 3 months eligibility period which means another exam fee;

bottom line: you don't wanna get to the examination by 31st of march, you lose those money(740$) and in order to accept the exam you volition have to pay again the fee examination.

But not the fees.U may take to do all the paperwork again !!

You don't accept to do the paper work once again....once u go an usmle id ur all documents are with them till v yrs(is information technology 5 yrs or 7 yrs i dont know),ya u may loose ur money,but its better to pay 740$ again,than to get a bad score & end up with no residency position at all.....this was just a proposition.

you don't need to do whatever paperwork again, but need to pay for the extention fee( eligibility menstruum) next 3 consecutive months, i call up information technology's simply 50$.

My proper noun is Shweta.I have mentioned in the previous post that 1 of my friends did the same.She was unable to give the exam even after extending her catamenia,then she reapplied.Just the 2nd time when she was reapplying she didnt send whatever documents.Simply ofcourse this was i twelvemonth dorsum,dont know about any contempo changes.You can transport an email to ecfmg & detect out.

I was in the same situation and re-paid the fee. You don't have to re-practice the paperwork, only the online application.

No, it will not go on as an attempt, but if you want to accept the examination again in the future, you volition have to pay for it again because there is no reimbursement once you skip the examination appointment that registered for. I promise that answered your question!

Howdy GUYS .. i am on the same gunkhole. please do you know how long it would take to exist able to do the online reapplication for a new eligibility period?? when the closest possible date that we allowed to take the examination after skipping an already extended period?? for some one who have all the papers gear up and valid (no need to contact the schoolhouse).

note: regarding those who are asking about redoing the paper works :
1.for already graduated bidder(unremarkably IMG) = no need to redo the paper works, in that location paper works will remain active and verified once accepted by ecfmg in the get-go time for 5 years.
2.for studnets : usually demand to redo at that place paper works; demand schoolhouse contact to make sure that the student is still attending a medical school .
